Ten years ago, Pigtown Main Street — the organization tasked with the historic and economic revitalization of the Washington Blvd Commercial Corridor — had an idea for a local street festival. The festival’s goal would be to celebrate, and showcase, Pigtown.
During the festival’s early years, it was held on a one block stretch of McHenry street. As it grew in popularity, the organizers realized that the festival would require more open space. Since then, it has been held along the 3 block stretch along the 700-900 blocks of Washington Blvd.
